Party Poker Texas Holden Quick Start
If you are new to playing holden online here is a quick start guide to playing at the largest poker room - Party Poker
Basically how it works...
Party Poker works by providing software that allows you and others to "meet" and compete at virtual poker tables.
The software is free to download and you are welcome to play for fun (no real money required) or for real cash - it's up to you. The only requirements are that you have an internet connection and you are over 18. The screen shots to the right give you an idea how the interface looks once you are inside the software. It's pretty straight forward and intuitive. If you are itching to get started, jump already to Party Poker and download the software.
How to install the software
Installing the software is just like installing any other program. Party Poker provides further instructions on their site if you need a full step by step procedure, but in general, it's as easy as double clicking the Party Poker .exe file that you downloaded from their site and following the installer instructions. If the installer asks you questions that you are not so sure about (like, to which folder would you like to install the software...etc) you can trust the defaults it gives. Just click next, next...etc and you'll be fine.
Once the software is installed
After installing, run the Party Poker program and you'll be presented with a request to register an account. This is a required step but doesn't take very long. They'll ask you to choose an account name, to provide your name and a password and that's pretty much it.
Playing your first game of texas holden
After registering, you'll be presented with the Party Poker Lobby which looks somewhat like the top picture above. This is where you can see (and join) various poker tables and tournaments. In the beginning, I recommend that you first join some practice tables in order to get the hang of it. Navigate through the various game and table types to find some free money tables with an empty seat. Double click that link to join a table. This will take you to a new screen (like the second screen above) where you'll see the virtual table and the people who are playing against. At this point, I recommend you take a look at the how to play tutorials that are available at Party Poker. In addition, if you choose that you want to play for real cash, you'll need to purchase chips (as you would in a real casino) through the online banking system that Party Poker provides. You'll find on their site all the instructions for making that step.
That's pretty well the basics covered. As I mentioned, there are plenty more in depth instructions available at the Party Poker website. Plus if you have any troubles at all, you can call their toll free support and I'm sure they'll sort you out. Good luck! |
